Our hand-whittled sign was artfully designed and crafted by Wally Whitford, The Village Whittler, of Danbury, New Hampshire.  The Village Whittler was famous for his whittling and carving of walking sticks, bird houses, teepees & totem poles and duck decoys.  He also did the sign at Ruggles Mine.  He was a trapper and hunter and enjoyed camping.   Wally Whitford died in 2008 at the age of 81.
